James Harden has been hitting the history books hard these last few weeks. He has scored 30 or more points in 21 straight games and put up a career-high 61 against the bottom-feeding New York Knicks on Wednesday. His scoring is on such a record pace that oddsmakers, particularly Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, has his over/under against the Toronto Raptors set at 42.5, which is the highest they've ever had, according to ESPN.
"It's a reaction to what we're seeing through the betting window, "vice president of risk management and oddsmaking at the SuperBook Jeff Sherman, told ESPN. "If Harden goes on a string of games where he hits 50 a few times in a row, we may have to increase it more because in the low 40s, we're not going to get much under money on it. We did see two-way action at 41.5 on Monday."
The Raptors are one of the best teams in the league, at a record of 36-14 and sit second in the entire Eastern Conference, not to mention, they have one of the best defensive players in the league in Kawhi Leonard, so reaching 43 points might prove difficult for Harden.
Houston will take on the Raptors at home tonight at 8 P.M. EST.
