ScHoolboy Q revealed the official tracklist for Oxymoron earlier this month, which included features from the likes of Tyler, The Creator, 2 Chainz, Kendrick Lamar, Raekwon and more. 50 Cent was not included amongst the many features, but according to Fif himself, he will appear on the album.
In a post to Instagram late last night, 50 said that he had pre-ordered Q's new album (which has already surpassed GKMC in pre-release sales, by the way), before revealing in the comments section of the post that he will be on the project, saying, "I'm on school boy Q album. We did a joint together."
It's unclear whether or not this collaboration is part of the deluxe edition, or the appearance was meant to be uncredited, and therefore a surprise.
Either way, the cat's out of the bag now. View 50's Instagram post below, as well as a screencap of the comment in the gallery above.
[Update: Schoolboy Says He’s Not On The Album]
Those anticipating a ScHoolboy Q and 50 Cent collaboration will have to wait. The TDE rapper just confirmed that 50 will NOT appear on Oxymoron.
After his exclusive Hot 97 listening session earlier today, ScHoolboy Q moved over to the radio and had a chat with Angie Martinez. When Angie asked Q about the Fifty collaboration, Q revealed that Fif's song did not make the final cut due to it not fitting the overall scheme of the album. Q said,
“It just didn’t make it……I wish 50 Cent was on my album. That was one artist, him and e-40 that’s two people I wish I put on my album. Its just so many records that I have, I had to pick and choose…..and I felt that it didn’t fit as good as the other records I had.”
ScHoolboy Q says the untitled record will eventually see the light of the day. Hopefully, it’s just sooner rather than later.
