Scott knows what it's like to be fired as the Lakers coach.

The Los Angeles Lakers are currently 11th in the Western Conference with a record of 31-39 all while sitting 9.5 games back of a playoff spot. It's been a disastrous season for a team that everyone had as a contender after the addition of LeBron James. Things haven't worked out the way they were supposed to and a lot of the blame is being put on head coach Luke Walton. It's been rumored that James and team president Magic Johnson are unhappy with Walton and want him gone at the end of the season.

Former Lakers head coach Byron Scott knows all too well what it feels like to be let go from the team. He spoke to TMZ Sports recently and weighed in on Walton's situation, saying these last stretch of games will be his last in L.A.

"Listen, I think Luke did a great job under the circumstances," Scott said. "He's in a situation that's extremely, extremely tough. At the end of the day, I can tell you this from past experience, the coach is always first to go. That's just how it is."

Scott added that he feels as though Walton doesn't deserve to be let go but his inability to live up to expectations will be his downfall.

"I don't think [firing Walton] is something that is warranted but if you look at their team, you look at their record, you look at the season, everybody thought they would make the playoffs," Scott said.

The Lakers have lost eight of their last 10 games.
