Lil Wayne
Weezy officially joins the X Games family.

Lil Wayne is a loyal character, there's no doubt about it, especially when it comes to his adoption of skateboarding as a life-saving hobby. So how is Weezy paying it forward - but of course: by taking the stage at the upcoming X Games in Aspen.

The 2019 edition of the ultimate event in extreme sports, started on Thursday and runs until Mon, Jan 28, 2019. So while the Winter X Games doesn't involve skateboarding for obvious reasons, Lil Wayne is excited, all the same, to lend his name to the "original" eSports movement, popularized in the mid-90s by skaters like Tony Hawk and Rodney Mullen.

Lil Wayne's recruitment as one of the musical guests for the 2019 X Games, will see him perform two separate gigs: one Tonight at Buttermilk and another on Saturday at Belly Up, both situated in downtown Aspen. Lil Wayne will be joined by Louis the Child, The Chainsmokers and Kygo on both accounts. But with great sadness, both venues have listed the dual-performances as sold out - at a rough estimate of 6,000 concert-goers each.

The X Games organizers sold the concert tickets as part of a bundle giving attendees access to a two-day ski lift for any of Aspen's mountains, VIP access to four concerts (including the two gigs headlined by Weezy), whereas entry to the competition, is subject to another admissions process altogether.
