Xbox Entertainment Studios is developing a comedy series based on the life of Nas.

After announcing the news of Nas’ upcoming 20th anniversary issue of his 1994 debut album Illmatic, Deadline is reporting that the rapper is in talks with Microsoft’s Xbox Entertainment Studios for a planned half-hour comedy series.

The show will be titled Street Dreams, and be “loosely based” on Nas’ life and as an emcee in the Queensbridge projects in the 1990’s. Slated for a half-hour spot, Street Dreams will be written and directed by Jonathan Levin, who is well known for his 2011 directing of “50/50” starring Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Levine also took home the Audience Award at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival for "The Wackness".

According to Deadline, Nas will contribute the music and writing to the show while his manager, Anthony Seleh, will be listed as an executive producer alongside Jamie Patricof, Lynette Howell, and Jonathan Levine.

Even though Xbox Entertainment Studios hasn't released any content yet, the company is reportedly developing a Halo-based live action television series with Steven Spielberg. They also have their hand in a new reality show about street-soccer that may be airing alongside the upcoming Fifa 2014 World Cup as well.

No word as for when we can expect to see this premiering, but we'll most definitely keep you updated if we hear anything.
