Meek Mill is one of the few Black men in America that was able to overcome a system that was designed to keep people like himself down. After it was discovered that the police officer who originally arrested Meek was a dirty cop, the Philadelphia rapper had the ammunition he needed to fight the courts and receive bond. Although Meek is out from behind prison bars, his fight for personal freedom and equality for all is far from over. Spreading awareness is the first step in any activist movement, and Meek has partnered with Jay-Z to help educate the masses.

The Rocnation boss and Meek teamed up with Amazon for the 6-episode docuseries Free Meek. The docuseries highlights the consequences of long-term probation for the black community. Meek revealed a short teaser for the series at a recent show in Philadelphia, and the clip has since been uploaded to YouTube, as reported by Rolling Stone"I never really looked at it as a nightmare, I looked at it as real life for black kids in America,” Meek states. “This is real life."

Free Meek is an upcoming documentary series that will follow Meek and his fight for exoneration while exposing flaws in the criminal justice system,” Amazon wrote in a statement. “The series will give viewers unprecedented access to the star’s life, career, and criminal justice odyssey, while demonstrating the negative effects long tail probation is having on urban communities of color.” Check out the trailer below.
