TLC's biopic "CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story" aired on VH1 last week, and now that TLC's former manager, Perri "Pebbles" Reid, has finally seen the movie and how she was depicted in it, she has a bone to pick with VH1. The film portrays Pebbles as the 'bad guy,' swindling millions from the young r'n'b group.
Pebbles released a statement concerning the film, and explaining her delayed response to it. She says she took more than a week to respond because she was gathering her thoughts. "I have always been a private person and this unprovoked attack has been extremely upsetting to me and my family," Pebbles says in her statement.
She writes, "The movie contains many false and defamatory statements and scenes about me. Please know that I have never cheated or misled anyone. I will defend my reputation, accomplishments, and character. My attorney is in the process of demanding a retraction of the false and defamatory statements and scenes about me."
Pebbles continued to say that she will be sharing her side of the story."I have held my peace for 20 years and it's time the truth comes out. I will be sharing my story in the appropriate venue at the appropriate time."
She closed out her statement, "I am extremely proud of the success and massive accomplishments of TLC-- the group I discovered, managed and mentored."
