Star Wars fans are getting ready for The Mandalorian, which premieres later this year on Disney+. The series, which takes place five years after Return Of The Jedi, follows the gun-toting, bounty-hunting Mandalorian as he hustles to make a buck. The titular character will be played by Pedro Pascal, who previously appeared on both Game Of Thrones and Narcos. While the official trailer has yet to be revealed to the public, IGN has provided a detailed breakdown of what we can expect, thanks to their panel coverage from Star Wars Celebration 2019.
During the panel, Pedro Pascal took to the stage to describe a bit about his character. "He’s a mysterious lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy," Pascal revealed. "He has a questionable moral character, which is in line with our best western and samurai movies. He’s a badass." Footage from the trailer reveals some of the secondary, which include Warner Herzog's ominous yet unnamed character, and the villain portrayed by Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito; the footage reveals Esposito piloting a TIE fighter and commanding a few Stormtroopers.
Star Wars geeks will be pleased to know that the iconic Assassin Droid IG-88, who made a brief appearance in The Empire Strikes Back, will be appearing in The Mandalorian. IG-88, who will be voiced by director Taika Waititi, is kicking ass and taking names in the trailer, in a scene IGN describes as "visually impressive." Look for the trailer to surface in the near future, and keep a lookout for Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian, coming soon.
