Russell Wilson wants his contract now.

Russell Wilson has been a staple of the Seattle Seahawks for the last decade now. Thanks to winning a Super Bowl and bringing the team to a second Super Bowl appearance, Wilson is regarded as one of the top tier quarterbacks in the league. While he may not be the flashiest guy out on the field, Wilson is a solid player who is able to lead his team victory when they need him to. He was able to run the table and get the team into the playoffs this year, so there is something to be said about how much he means to the franchise.

Wilson currently has one year left on his contract as he'll become a free agent in the offseason of 2020. If Wilson doesn't sign a contract by then, he could end up franchise tagged by the Seahawks, meaning he'll most likely make a little bit less money and he won't be able to negotiate with any other teams. This has led Wilson to impose an April 15th deadline for a contract extension. it just so happens that that happens to be today.

Unfortunately for Wilson and the Seahawks, it appears as though contract talks arent's progressing. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Wilson will not sign an extension with the Seahawks after his deadline, which puts both sides at a bit of dilemma.

It is believed that Wilson is seeking a contract similar to that of Aaron Rodgers, who is currently making $33.5 million a year in Green Bay.
