ScHoolboy Q's Oxymoron album is two weeks away and so anticipation is at an all-time high. The album has been up for pre-order on iTunes for a minute now, and although we don't usually get to find out what an album's pre-order numbers look like, TDE's CEO decided to share Q's with the world, or at least, the Twitterverse.
Apparently the rapper is edging out Kendrick Lamar's good kid, m.A.A.d city when it comes to pre-sales. Q has 23,000 pre-order albums locked down, and as the CEO says, the goal is to reach 35,000-- which would be a double of K. Dot's pre-sale numbers. It's funny to think, because we assume Kendrick is the biggest artist on the label. Yet when GKMC was first being promoted it wasn't "TDE everything, everywhere", the label was slightly more low-key.
Nonetheless, GKMC continues to chart on the Billboard 200 as we see week after week on Charts Don't Lie, but it sold 242,000 copies opening week-- will Groovy Q beat those opening week numbers? What do you think?
