Rick Ross is feelin' like Biggie. The MMG bawse recently held a small listening session for a couple of tracks from his upcoming LP, Mastermind, which revealed some interesting details about the project. Rozay previewed songs such as “Ultimate Price,” and “Francis Ford Coppola,” but the most notable track played was one that channelled the spirit of the late Notorious B.I.G.
While the title was not revealed, Vibe reports that the track samples Biggie's “You’re Nobody (Until Somebody Kills You)” from his 1997 project Life After Death. Even more notable was the fact that Ross took the song as an opportunity to address the attempt on his life back in January.
The song apparently begins with audio from a 911 call made the night of the drive-by shooting that Ross narrowly avoided. The sample then kicks in and Rozay launches into detail about the incident, his vocal approach actively mirroring Chris Wallace's.
According to the Mastermind himself, the final tracklisting for the project is still in the works.
The album drops December 17th.
