Manny Pacquiao is one of the biggest and best boxers to ever do it. He most recently defeated Adrien Broner in the ring and has fought some other pretty legendary boxers such as Floyd Mayweather. Pacquiao's status as a legend has already been cemented and he is much more than a boxer at this point. Much like many men who have competed in violent sports, he is taking the stance that he doesn't want his son to follow in his footsteps and become a boxer as well. A video came out of his 18-year-old son Jimuel in the ring boxing, which Pacquiao says is something he is discouraging.
"We are really discouraging him. In our home we don't have any gloves or boxing equipment," Pacquiao said according to ESPN. "But we have a basketball court."
The boxer also explained that the only reason why he became a boxer in the first place was because of his financial situation at the time.
"I told him I only took up boxing because we were poor. It was a way for me to support my family," he explained. "It pains me to see him box because I know how hard it is."
