NFL announces suspension for Browns RB Kareem Hunt.

The NFL has today announced that Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt has been suspended for eight games after violating the league's personal conduct policy, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Hunt has accepted the punishment and will not appeal the league's ruling.

The Browns signed Hunt on February 11, several months after the 23-year old running back was released by the Kansas City Chiefs when video footage of him pushing and kicking a woman surfaced.

Hunt issued a statement on Friday, in which he once again apologized for the incident that occurred last February.

“I want to again apologize for my actions last year. I know that my behavior hurt a lot of people, and I again apologize to them. I respect the league’s decision on discipline, and I appreciate the time I spent with Commissioner Goodell last week. I’m grateful for my time with the Browns over the last month and thankful to all the people in the organization that have welcomed me. I also appreciate all of the support I received from my union through this process. My commitment to earning the trust of the league, my teammates, the organization and this community through my actions will continue, and I understand there is a lot of hard work ahead of me before I’m able to fully return to playing the game I love.”

In 11 games with the Chiefs last season, Hunt rushed for 824 yards and seven touchdowns to go along with 378 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns.

Cleveland finished with a 7-8-1 record last season, and they're currently one of the Super Bowl favorites after acquiring Pro Bowl receiver Odell Beckham Jr. in a trade with the New York Giants.
