Last night, Nav answered the prayers of his fans by releasing his first drop since "retiring." At least, in a way. The Brown Boy project was ostensibly "leaked" by his homie CashXO, a segue through which the Toronto rapper can stage his proper comeback. "I’m tired of hunting for @nav hard drive and waiting for him to come out of retirement!," Cash wrote, via Instagram. "So here’s some songs I had on my phone that aren’t on his album 🤷🏽♂️ enjoy!"
The unexpected drop prompted Nav's friend and Fortnite buddy Lil Uzi Vert to chime in with some words of encouragement. Perhaps it was exactly the endorsement Nav was seeking, for the rapper slid through with ring in some good news shortly thereafter. "F**k it imma just drop my real album next week!" teases Nav, via an IG post. He proceeds to directly address Lil Uzi Vert, who has found himself entrenched in a purgatorial state of industry lockdown. "I just hope you get ur situation sorted out and you release the “e word” And I just woke up im gettin online now."
Expect Nav's upcoming album to arrive next Friday, barring any breaks to convention. Are you looking to hear it?
