Last year while on her "Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill 20th Anniversary Tour," news broke that American Express was coming after the hip hop icon. According to Bossip, American Express Nation Bank sued Hill along with "MLH Touring," claiming that she racked up $371,892 for "the price of goods sold and/or services rendered" and didn't pay them back. The court papers were filed with a New Jersey Superior court, but all has been quiet on the lawsuit front since then.
While it doesn't look like Hill ever officially responded to the lawsuit in court, it seems she's been taking care of settling her debt behind the scenes. Last month, new paperwork was filed by American Express, stating they would be dropping their case against the rapper. As soon as a judge signed on the dotted line, the case was marked as closed.
Hill has been the subject a few controversies, albeit they have stemmed from her live show antics. Fans have expressed their displeasure at her showing up to concerts late, as was the case in France back in November 2018, if at all. Even so, it's always a positive thing when L-Boogie is out here winning and if anyone can catch her live, they definitely should.
