Mark Ruffalo is happy as a clam after spotting his name on the new Avengers: Endgame poster. In truth, Ruffalo's gig as the Incredible Hulk was never up for question, even though directors Joe and Anthony Russo did make a joke about it last fall. "Yes, we fired Mark Ruffalo. Mark’s fired," one of the Russo brothers jokingly answered to a journalist trying to perpetuate the joke-rumor.
With the shiny new Avenger: Endgame poster circulating social media, Mark Ruffalo decided the joke regarding his dismissal deserved one last spin. "So I wasn't fired?" he wrote on Twitter, giving off the impression he was surprised by his inclusion.
Upon further inspection, it's become evident that Mark Ruffalo enjoys making these kinds of dad jokes. Just last year, Ruffalo made it seem like he was spilling the beans on the Infinity War film and its ending. While the Good Morning America hosts took the fib at face value, ardent followers of the franchise were far less gullible as they prodded the actor in a manner comparable to the lightness of the joke itself.
Given the good-natured banter flowing between the actors, producers and the fans in Marvel Cinematic Universe: Ruffalo couldn't possibly be too surprised to pay witness to social media users prodding him once again. Avengers: Endgame drops on April 26, 2019, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Are you ready?
