HNHH's Lyrics of the Week breaks down the most noteworthy bars of the past seven days into 8-10 categories that will rotate according to the type of material that drops.

We're back, folks. There's quite a bit of repetition in the game these days, and specific bars are often overlooked. This is an opportunity to take a closer listen and really consider what these artists have to say. We encourage your opinions.

Keep in mind, these are the most noteworthy lyrics of the week, not necessarily the best. Also, it's hard to get everything right - if you notice any errors, don't hesitate to let us know in the comments section. Lines we're not sure about will be bolded.

This series is brought to you by our collaborators at gotbars.com, currently one of the most efficient providers of the latest hip-hop and R&B lyrics. Get familiar and create an account with them to continue the discussion directly:

Most Popular: Eminem ft. Kendrick Lamar - Love

Lyrics Of The Week: September 25-31

1.) Most Popular: Eminem ft. Kendrick Lamar - Love Game

Hate it or love it, this is definitely one of the more noteworthy cuts from Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP 2, and the words were by far the most popular of the week. Most of us were expecting something much harder, but instead we got quirky descriptions of romantic insecurity from both Marshall and Kendrick, over a blatant sample of Wayne Fontana & The Mindbenders' 1965 hit "The Game Of Love".

The track's far from soft, though - the instrumental's upbeat, and neither emcee takes the Drake approach, remaining aggressive. This is a collaboration between alter egos (K.Dot and Slim Shady), and neither of them hold back. If you were disappointed by this record, try and appreciate the underlying hilarity of their bitterness.

Although many of you probably have the leak already, the MMLP2 officially drops on November 5th.

[Excerpt: Eminem]

You could suck a softball through a straw, used to be my fiance
'Til you sucked on Wayne, Andre, and Kanye
Lebron, Akon, Jay, Lil Jon, Raekwon, Ma$e
Polow Tha Don, Drake, Dante Ross, James Conway, Kwame?!

[Excerpt: Kendrick Lamar]

She doesn't love me, no she don't love me no more
She hates my company, yeah, she don't love me no more
I tried to get her up out of my head, left my bags at the door
She screamed she loved me like she never did before

[Excerpt: Eminem]

Never been a more compelling case
Than the model covered in L'Oréal and mace
Who fell from grace 11 stories for storytelling
But the whore was yelling "rape!" 'til her vocal cords were swelling
And her voice was more hoarser than Tori Spelling's face

Best Imagery: Action Bronson - Practice

Lyrics Of The Week: September 25-31

2.) Best Imagery: Action Bronson - Practice (Prod. By Party Supplies)

"Practice" is a standout cut from Action Bronson and Party Supplies' new Blue Chips 2 mixtape. Detailed descriptions and vivid, colorful imagery have always been a part of Action's approach to lyricism, and there's no shortage of it here. Whether he's clapping Cupid or choking a rhinoceros with his bare hands, no one paints a picture quite like Bronsolino.

[Excerpt]

It be the novelist, bare-handed choke a hippopotamus
I need to go to Drug-Dealing Anonymous
Cheerio - ship-flip like Rey Mysterio
Me laid up with big money be the scenario

[Excerpt]

Eatin' Chicken Parmesan in a holding cell
My feet up, hittin' my G-pen, yeah, you know me well
Quadraple black Coupes, smack you if you act stupid
No love here, motherfuckers, I'll clap Cupid

Most Poetic: Jonwayne ft. Scoop Deville - The Come-Up Pt 1

Lyrics Of The Week: September 25-31

For those unfamiliar, Jonwayne is a rising producer/emcee from L.A. signed to Stones Throw Records. He just released a new collaborative project with Scoop Deville called Rap Album One, and "The Come-Up Pt 1" is a standout cut from the project.

Scoop Deville most definitely holds his own here, but the poesy of Jonwayne's verses stands out, and his instrumental is next-level. We recommend looking into his entire catalogue.

[Excerpt: Jonwayne]

The East Coast held it down for me lyrically, the West Coast spiritually
Feeling the rhythm kept me together
Because my friends are hard to find with so many enemies
My memories were flaking around me like winter leaves
I'm just a cardiac ghost that wants his body back
Riding whips like I'm running beside the Pontiac
Spinning Busta and Dirty Bastard since second grade
Standing up to the bullies for change like lemonade

Most Conscious: Mann ft. Dizzy Wright - Time Collapse

Lyrics Of The Week: September 25-31

Mann and Dizzy Wright reflect on both personal evolution and the state of the world on this new collaborative record. They encourage us to carve our own lane, trusting in ourselves instead of the powers that be and looking past the illusion that is Western civilization. There is a revolutionary vigour in their delivery.

MANN sent the lyrics over himself, and feels strongly about the message here. Don't sleep.

[Excerpt: Mann]

Fuck it, if my goal is peace how can they take it wrong?
Feeling like a revolutionary when I made this song
New visions and Eastern philosophy
Got me thinking early 70's, speaking honestly
Living free, Nature, Peace Sign and Marijuana leaves
U.S.A, free country, you will never wanna leave...
Yeah right, false perception of paradise
When you are born, they start infecting you with the parasite
Domestication in Hell, seeing Heaven nowhere in sight

[Excerpt: Dizzy Wright]

We consumin' brain power, learnin' is constitution
We humans only cohesive, smokers but we still students
Not over your head is it? Equally fair decisions
Believe and you will succeed, let the weed take you there to get it

Best Collaboration:  Joey Badass - My Jeep

Lyrics Of The Week: September 25-31

Feat. Meechy Darko, Chuck Strangers & Issa Gold

Joey Badass teamed up with Chuck Strangers, Meechy Darko of the Flatbush Zombies and Issa Gold of The Underachievers for this standout track from his new Summer Knights EP. With all parties involved hailing from the same region of NYC, this is a distinctly New York record, brought to you by artists who are at the forefront of the city's hip-hop renaissance.

The combination of emcees is dope, both sonically any lyrically, and the instrumental is dusty in the best way.

Cruise to it.

[Excerpt: Joey Badass]

Why you tokin' that? Where your tokens at?
This ain't just potent packs, this shit is chokin' gas
Sim-simmer, who got the keys in the Bimmer?
Who see police in the mirror?
Who do Mach 3 speeds on the highway?
Beast Coast where I lay, won't stop 'til my day

[Excerpt: Issa Gold]

Yeah the whole OG, keep it in motion
Beast Coast, yeah, we chosen, niggas sick, got the potion
I'm hoping the knowledge me and my niggas spoken
Will find a nigga in the villa smokin' on something potent
You niggas is fuckin' hopeless... and me and my niggas focused

[Excerpt: Meechy Darko]

Kate Moss T on - 28 grams, bitch, I get my OZ on
Laney 14's, bitch, I get my OG on
Got on Christian Dior, but we livin' like we demons
Talkin' shit and rollin' up, that's the wave that we on
MCM jacket, gold teeth like I'm Jerome

Best Storytelling / Most Reflective: Yo Gotti - Cold Blood

Lyrics Of The Week: September 25-31

Feat. J. Cole & Canei Finch

"Cold Blood" was one of the more anticipated records from Yo Gotti's upcoming album I AM, featuring J. Cole and Canei Finch on the assist. With Finch holding down the hook, both Gotti and Cole relate chilling stories of hardship while reflecting on personal experiences, and a sense of truth persists throughout. These words are heartfelt.

[Excerpt: Yo Gotti]

If I could paint a picture, I'd show an image of a dog-headed nigga
Yeah, a raw-ass nigga...
Poppin' pain killers, prayin' for the call
Four dogs with them pistols - n-n-natural born killers
He sold crack to his mother, turned his back on his brothers
Killed his partner for the plug, he think everythin' a hustle
Cold motherfucker... homes numb, black heart, no feelings, just a gun

[Excerpt: J. Cole]

Emerge like a search light in the darkness for this young black carcass
My niggas either joined the Armed Forces or they corpses now
In God we trust, but it’s bucks that we worship now
Boy that root of evil gon' forever rule the people
See, I seen just what that fast money gon' come and do to people
Hit a lick, it was a hit, he said "Let's go and do the sequel"

Honorable Mention: Kanye West - Big Boy's Neighbourhood Freestyle

Lyrics Of The Week: September 25-31

On the morning of October 28th, during an interview on Power 106's Big Boy's Neighborhood, Kanye West spit a rare three-part freestyle with Big Boy on the assist. Although he gets off to a bit of a slow start, Yeezus eventually gets in his zone, and there are some impressive moments for a free that was clearly coming off the top. It's quite honest.

[Excerpt]

Aye yo, I've got to ruin
The image and the style that you're used to doin'
When people usually do music
I am a visionary, Christian soldier, don't confuse it

[Excerpt]

I'm the rudest…
A lot of people say that 'cause they say 'Ye don't play that
They be off that Grey Goose, I be off that 'Ye Juice
That's the way I stay loose
Confidence and esteem, American dream
My crib's spatial…
And my relationship is interracial

[Excerpt]

Sometimes I don't listen to music, I just need to zone out
Sometimes I don't listen to music, everybody clones now
And I doubt they even listen, and I ain't tryna diss 'em
But sometimes I be in music and feel like it's a prison

No Comment:  Chief Keef - That's It

Lyrics Of The Week: September 25-31

The latest track/visual from Chief Keef - it's difficult to say what project it'll end up on, if any. We'll leave the commentary on this one up to all of you.

Stay tuned for next Friday's Lyrics Of The Week, folks, and thanks for joining the discussion.

[Excerpt]

She know I've got plenty of thots
But she said she don't wanna lose me - and that's it...
I gave a bitch two or three pumps, and that's it...
She high off two or three blunts, and that's it...
My guap, she can't get none of that shit
Take 20 out the bank and I'm spendin' that shit
I'm allergic to 3 things
And that's fake niggas, peanut butter and lobster - that's it...
