UFC legend Georges St-Pierre is reportedly prepared to announce his retirement on Thursday morning at a news conference in Montreal, according to multiple news outlets. The 37-year old fighter boasts an all-time record of 26-2.
St-Pierre, a former Welterweight and Middleweight champion in UFC, wished to challenge undefeated lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in hopes of becoming the first-ever three-division champion in UFC history. However, it became clear that UFC President Dana White had no desire in booking that match.
St-Pierre's last fight came at Madison Square Garden at UFC 217 in November 2017, when he defeated Michael Bisping by way of submission in Round 3 to win the Middleweight title. The memorable victory came four years after GSP walked away from the sport, following a split-decision win over Johnny Hendricks.

The only losses of GSP's career came at UFC 50 in 2004 when he tapped out to Matt Hughes in the first round, and at UFC 69 in 2007, when he was stunned by Matt Serra in the first round and lost the Welterweight championship. That said, he avenged his loss to Serra the following year at UFC 83 to regain the title in his hometown of Montreal.
According to CBS Sports' Brian Campbell, St-Pierre holds the record for most welterweight title defenses in UFC history with nine. He is one of just six fighters in UFC history to win titles in two divisions.
