Drake is all about television shout-outs lately. Just last week the "In My Feelings" rapper won big at the Billboard Music Awards and shouted out none other than Arya Stark in his acceptance speech, recognizing the Game of Thrones character for "putting in that work" during the Battle of Winterfell.
During last night's Raptor's game where the Toronto team played (and defeated) the 76ers, Drizzy wore a Breaker High hoodie that's a respected shout out to a Canadian series that was shot entirely in Burnaby, BC. The show followed a group of teenagers who get to attend high school on a cruise ship. Ryan Gosling and New Amsterdam actor Tyler Labine are two of the well-known stars to make it big since the show that aired from 1997 to 1998.
As we know, Drake got his start as a fellow Canadian actor himself on Degrassi, playing Jimmy Brooks.
"Back then, I'd spend a full day on set and then go to the studio to make music until 4 or 5 a.m," Drake previously told CBC. "I'd sleep in my dressing room and then be in front of the cameras again by 9 a.m. Eventually, they realized I was juggling two professions and told me I had to choose...I chose this life."
