Despite fans frequently lambasting the work of director George Lucas, there's no denying that a little bit of the Star Wars spirit left with him. While the recent crop of Star Wars films has fared rather well in the box office, the Disney era's massive tonal shift has left some longtime followers feeling a little salty. In any case, the post-Lucas trilogy is about to reach a conclusion, and if Oscar Isaac is to be believed, Episode IX will mark the end of the "Skywalker Saga."
“It is the end of the entire Skywalker saga,” Oscar explains, during a recent press run for Netflix' Triple Frontier. “Nine stories, and this is the culmination of the thing, and I think what J.J.’s done, and really the whole Lucas team, is going to be incredibly fulfilling. […] You get to learn a lot more about these characters.” The news arrives on the heels of another nostalgic anchor - the continued presence of Darth Vader. Clearly, the team is pulling all the stops in creating an overarching tale, and we can only hope that an admirable finale is reached.
What say you? Excited to see the end of the Skywalker tale?
