Scarface recently made headlines for venting about the music industry executives who control hip-hop, saying they don't really care about the culture or the craft. Well, it looks like the Houston legend will be taking control of his own music and will be releasing a new album soon.
Today, Scarface revealed that his next album will be titled Deeply Rooted. Announcing the news in his new vlog series, Scarface took some time out to discuss the upcoming project, and even give us a preview of a few records that are coming off the project. No release date has been set yet for the album, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a new single impact in the near future.
Deeply Rooted will be Scarface's first album since 2008's Emeritus. He also is working on a book of the same name with writer Benjamin Meadows-Ingram as well. Scarfaces says about the book:
"I talk about my life. I talk about the good times, the bad times…the game’s the same, you know. It don’t switch. The same rules apply in this game as it did in the other games that we played.”
“He’s a legend,” adds Meadows-Ingram. “It’s an honor and a privilege to work on the project. It just means a lot.”
