The Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, New York Knicks rumors are only going to pick up as we approach the July 1 NBA free agency period. The superstar duo of Durant and Irving are allegedly interested in teaming up on the Knicks once they become free agents and there's speculation that the wheels are already in motion.
According to a report by Brandon Robinson, an unnamed "east coast entertainment and media connection" revealed that Durant and the Knicks had a meeting back in January, possibly during the Warriors' trip to Madison Square Garden.
Of course, all of this information should be taken with a grain of salt.
“Learned from an east coast entertainment and media connection that the Knicks were straight-up communicating with KD earlier this season,” a league source reportedly told Robinson by text message.
“As in meeting up with KD…It could’ve been when the Warriors were on an East Coast trip, or maybe when the Knicks visited the Bay Area.”

Robinson’s source accused the Knicks of tampering, which, if the allegations are true, they certainly did.
“But whenever, wherever it took place, it was straight-up tampering — worse than when the Lakers tampered with PG13 [Paul George],” Robinson reported. “At least with PG and the Lakers, it was mainly communicated through text, email and phone. But the Knicks were straight-up meeting with KD. They actually should be investigated if the league knew about this.”
The Knicks are currently in possession of the worst record in the NBA at 13-55, 2.5 games worse (or better, depending how you look at it) than the Phoenix Suns.
