At the beginning of this month, rising rapper Blueface was caught with an unregistered, fully-loaded firearm on his person, leading to his arrest. Considering the fact that he's got one of the biggest hip-hop records out right now, that wasn't the best news he could have gotten to start off the month. Now, The Blast is reporting that he has been officially charged in relation to his February 1 arrest and he's facing a maximum sentence of three years behind bars.
Blueface was arrested after he and a large group of men were hanging out when they were approached by the LAPD. Many of his friends tried to get rid of their weapons but Blueface wasn't one of the lucky few that got away. The publication notes that the Los Angeles County D.A.'s office has formally charged the artist with possession of an unregistered handgun. The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison. This comes on the heels of a previous arrest last year for a similar offence.
The Los Angeles rapper has been gaining popularity nationwide with "Thotiana" continuing to climb the charts, gathering attention from well-known artists like Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Young M.A, Desiigner, and more. Hopefully, he can get out of this with a minimal sentence.
