The final edition of Top Tracks in 2018 ends fittingly with a diss track by an otherwise unpopular artist debuting at #1. This year, beef has again proved beyond the shadow of a doubt to be the most effective formula of gaining relevance quickly and briefly. The latest instance of this involves Migos and Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs N Harmony, who have been exchanging non-musical shots for the better part of December. This past week, Layzie threw the first diss track on the coals, and of course saw it rocket to the top of the chart.
For the first time in months, nobody's got more than one appearance in this week's top ten. New tracks barely missing out on spots this week include 24hrs and Wiz Khalifa's "Fitness" (#12), PnB Rock's "Doing So Well" (#14), Russ' "Nobody Knows" (#15), and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Quando Rondo, and Lil Quee's "Need A Best Friend" (#16).

10. Shabazz FBG Feat. Lil Uzi Vert - Shells
DMV area rapper Shabazz FBG isn't someone we see up here in the top ten all that often (or ever, thus far), but his collaborator on "Shells" certainly is. Everyone's so amped for Lil Uzi Vert's Eternal Atake that they'll click on anything he touches these days. "Shells" debuts at #10.
9. Lil AK - Chug Jug
Well, we should've known this was coming. Social media personality/troll DJ Akademiks was never actually a DJ, but now he is in fact a rapper. "Chug Jug" is a cut from his debut EP, Clout Chaser, and it's currently sitting at a 20% user approval rating. It does, however, debut at #9.
8. Hopsin - Hell's Carol
One of two Christmas-themed songs (Layzie Bone and Post Malone's holiday-themed accompanying artwork don't count) that made our list this week is Hopsin's update on the classic "Carol of the Bells." His version, entitled "Hell's Carol," debuts at #8.
7. Curren$y Feat. Wiz Khalifa - KhalifAndretti
Curren$y already released a clutch of collab with fellow prolific smoker Freddie Gibbs this year (Fetti), and now he's back in a team-up with another fellow herb enthusiast. "KhalifAndretti" is a nice portmanteau of his and Wiz Khalifa's names, and it debuts at #7 this week.
6. Trippie Redd - What's My Name
After spending most of 2018 relentlessly releasing new music, including two full-length projects, Trippie Redd took most of December off from haring new tunes. Last week he emerged with a video for a new song entitled "What's My Name," which debuts at #6 this week.
5. Future & Young Thug - Do It Like
Last week's #1 song is also this week's only repeat from the previous top ten— how many times have we heard that story? "Do It Like," a random loosie from Future and Young Thug, slides down four places in its second week out, from #1 to #5.
4. Kodak Black - Christmas In Miami
Kodak Black shared a. double-entendre of a new song last week, "Christmas In Miami," whose title both refers to the city he calls home and Yung Miami of City Girls, with whom he's recently been romantically linked. Although currently removed from the web, this song debuts at #4.
3. 21 Savage Feat. Travis Scott - Out for the Night Pt. 2
Travis Scott was a bit late delivering his guest vocals for 21 Savage's week-and-a-half old I Am > I Was, and as a result, the song in question ("Out for the Night Pt. 2") didn't arrive until last week. This one debuts at #3.
2. Post Malone - Wow.
Post Malone promised everyone a new single before year's end, and lo and behold, he delivered last week. "Wow.", which arrived accompanied by trippy Christmas visuals, debuts at #2.
1. Layzie Bone - Let Me Go Migo
The only way a solo Bone Thug is beating out Post Malone in views in 2018 is with a diss record. This track, aimed not only at fellow triplet-flowers Migos but also 21 Savage, did the trick. Layzie's "Let Me Go Migo" debuts at #1.
