Kevin Hart's sex tape controversy may be well in the past but it doesn't mean he has a few loose strings to tie up. According to The Blast, Kevin tried to get a lawsuit with his former business partner, Stand Up Digital, dropped but the judge has denied the motion.
The publication details how Kevin, his partner Wayne Brown and the company entered a deal to make a video game dubbed “Gold Ambush" that would feature Kevin and his family as characters. Stand Up Digital claimed to have spent over $1 million dollars on the game that was supposed to launch in September of 2017. Apparently, the app failed because Kevin confessed to his affair and said he was being extorted over the sex tape.
Stand Up Digital accused Kevin of not communicating with them and sued for damages of $7.2 million. Kevin countersued and responded to the first lawsuit detailing how he “suffered through an extremely difficult period in his life, where he was subjected to attempted blackmail to prevent disclosure of an extramarital affair.”
Kevin added how the company refused to take responsibility of the failure of the app that was “released into an app market where the overwhelming majority of gaming apps make insignificant revenue, and the few successful games, such as ‘Game of War,’ have advertising budgets in the tens of millions of dollars.”
Kevin apparently couldn't respond to the company because he was working with the FBI on the extortion and couldn't reveal any details.
