If you haven't watch Netflix's Fyre festival documentary yet, you should do that now, and if you have then you're well aware of Maryann Rolle. Maryann is the woman who fed most of the stranded festival attendees as well as the 200 plus workers who worked endlessly on the festival grounds before the disappointing event took place.
In the documentary, Maryann explained how she blew through all of her savings ($50,000) to feed the people and she wasn't paid back a dime for her daily 24 hours of work. "I pushed myself to the limit catering no less than a 1000 meals per day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all prepared and delivered by Exuma Point to Coco Plum Beach and Roker’s Point where the main events were scheduled to take place," she wrote on her GoFundMe page.
"As I make this plea it’s hard to believe and embarrassing to admit that I was not paid…I was left in a big hole! My life was changed forever, and my credit was ruined by Fyre Fest. My only resource today is to appeal for help."
The documentary along with the kindness of people's hearts has given Maryann back her savings and more. The GoFundMe page is now sitting at $163,150 from its goal of $123,000.
