Is there such thing as Iron Man without Pepper Potts? The question begs to be asked since Gwyneth Paltrow who plays Pepper in the Marvel Universe, has announced that she's retiring her role after the upcoming Avengers: Endgame.
The 46-year-old actress chatted with Variety and explained that her days being Iron Man's secretary (turned girl-friend) are coming to an end. “I mean, I’m a bit old to be in a suit and all that at this point,” she said. “I feel very lucky that I did it, because I actually got talked into it. I was friend with [Iron Man director] Jon Favreau. It was such a wonderful experience making the first ‘Iron Man’ and then to watch how important it has become to fans.”
Although she plans on retiring, Gwyneth is open to making cameos and appear for flashback moments in upcoming films.
“I feel honored to be a part of something that people are so passionate about,” she explained. “Of course, if they said, ‘Can you come back for a day?,’ I will always be there if they need me.”
