Thomas is looking at $32 million in guaranteed money.

Back in September of 2018, Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas went down with a broken leg and missed the rest of the season because of it. It was an ill-timed injury for Thomas who became a free agent at the end of the season. Despite the fears over his health, Thomas earned himself a big payday today as the Baltimore Ravens are reportedly signing him to a 4-year $55 million contract, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The safety will receive $32 million in guaranteed money and will also earn $22 million in the first nine months of the contract.

The signing is a big one for the Ravens as they recently released safety Eric Weddle while also allowing Terrell Suggs to walk. Suggs was a part of the Ravens 2012 Super Bowl run and has consistently been one of the best defensive players in the league. The Thomas signing will help the Ravens replace some of the players that they have just lost.

In 2018, the Ravens were one of the league's best defenses, going toe-to-toe with the Chicago Bears. The Ravens finished with a record of 10-6 and made the Wild-Card Round although they were eventually eliminated by the Los Angeles Chargers.
