The family of R. Kelly's girlfriend, Joycelyn Savage, have been desperately trying to meet their daughter for over two years but they haven't had a chance. They believe that the singer's brainwashed them but she's insisted that's not the case. However, last week, the Savages received a call from Kelly's publicist who promised to arrange a meeting with their daughter this week. The family now claims that they've heard nothing back from the singer's publicist.
According to sources close to The Blast, R. Kelly's publicist may have backtracked on his agreement to arrange a meeting between Joycelyn Savage and her family. The family's attorney, Gerald Griggs, was contacted by Kelly's publicist, Darryll Johnson, after the singer's interview with Gayle King aired last week. Johnson reportedly promised to arrange a meeting between the family and Joycelyn but there weren't any concrete plans made. The source said it was a very "bare bones" conversation.
Johnson hurried off the phone but promised to call back with specifics. Griggs said he never called back and has essentially gone ghost. No agreement was in place for the meeting but the Savages believe Kelly and his team did this for some sort of publicity.
The Savage family spoke to Joycelyn on the phone last week but they're still under the belief that Kelly and his team were controlling the conversation.
