Feel the Bern...again.

It has been speculated for a while now, but Senator Bernie Sanders has officially tossed his hat in the 2020 presidential race. The decision marks his second attempt at securing the Democratic nomination, following a defeat at the hands of Hilary Clinton back in 2016. CNN shared a sample of his subsequent statement, which reads: "I am asking you to join me today as part of an unprecedented and historic grassroots campaign that will begin with at least a million people from across the country."

Though a somewhat divisive figure, Bernie Sanders has since emerged as a possible favorite, especially given his popularity among younger voters. With visions of general health care and free higher education, Bernie has put in work establishing himself as a bonafide threat to Donald Trump's presidency. In fact, his announcement video finds him going on the offensive, dubbing Trump the "most dangerous president in modern American history," as well as "pathological liar, a fraud, a racist, a sexist, a xenophobe and someone who is undermining American democracy as he leads us in an authoritarian direction."

Detailing his greater Presidential aspirations, Sanders promises to create "a government based on the principles of economic, social, racial and environmental justice." While defeating Trump in 2020 is his ultimate goal, first Bernie will have to emerge victorious in his own party. That means going through Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, and the possible candidate Joe Biden, who has been long rumored. Suffice it to say, many have already responded to Bernie 2.0 with optimism. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
