IDK may have not made the XXL Freshman List this year, but he's consistently proven that he deserves a spot in 2019. IDK has continuously flexed his lyrical ability on wax through each track and freestyle he drops. He recently trekked over the U.K where he linked up with Tim Westwood and delivered a freestyle over Tyler, The Creator's breakout hit.
IDK joined Tim Westwood on his Capital Xtra radio show where the IWasVeryBad rapper dropped a hot freestyle over Tyler, The Creator's track, "Yonkers." The rapper undoubtedly smashed the beat, but what stood out the most was a particular bar that referenced Troy Ave's legal situation. "I don't believe in luck so fuck your Make-A-Wish ass/ I can tell you tellin', you Troy Ave with yo snitch ass," he raps towards the end of the freestyle.
The bar is in reference to Troy Ave's involvement in the Irving Plaza shooting. The rapper was charged with attempted murder and was shot twice during the incident. In his video for "2 Legit 2 Quit," the rapper alluded to testifying against someone on the stand which sparked speculation that he did speak to the police.
Aside from IDK's freestyle, he dropped off his latest mixtape, IDK & Friends, in mid-November. The project features appearances from the likes of Wale and Rico Nasty as well as Domo Genesis and many more.
