The two have been dating for nine years.

Usually dating your coworkers isn't exactly the best idea, although perhaps dating your teammate isn't as risky. For U.S. women's soccer national team players Ashlyn Harris and Ali Kreiger, this was surely the case as they announced that they are engaged to one another after nine years of dating. According to People Magazine, the two are set to get married at the end of 2019. While their relationship is public knowledge, the two have made sure not to flaunt it too much as they didn't want it to interfere with their soccer careers.

"We wanted to be professional and make sure that we showed up every day and did our job and it wasn’t just because we were together, it was because we love what we do, and we’re really good at what we do,” Krieger said People.

Harris added on to Krieger's statement by saying that the two are very comfortable in their own skin and feel as though now was a good time to go public.

"We became more and more confident within and ourselves and then clearly within our relationship," Harris said. "Finally, after all these years, I just feel like I don’t have to hide anything or feel like I’m not living up to the community I’m in."

While Kreiger is no longer with the team, Harris will play with the U.S women's national team at the Women's World Cup in France this summer.
