Pierce originally declared the series "over."

After the Boston Celtics crushed the Milwaukee Bucks 112-90 in Game 1 of their second-round matchup, former Celtics player and current ESPN analyst Paul Pierce declared the series over. Pierce was convinced that his Celtics were going to destroy the Bucks and that Giannis Antetokoumpo and company wouldn't be able to bounce back. Well, last night, the Bucks won Game 4 113-101 and now have a 3-1 series lead on the Celtics. With the series heading back to Milwaukee for Game 5, the Bucks have a great opportunity to knock off the Celtics and move on to the Eastern Conference Final.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is a minority owner of the Bucks and took it upon himself to throw some subtle shade at Pierce after the game on Monday night. "Maybe Paul Pierce was right @bucks #3-1," Rodgers wrote sarcastically on Twitter.

"As a team, I don't know where Milwaukee goes from here," Pierce said after Game 1. "I think it's over. "It's just seemed like Milwaukee was a way better team throughout the regular season [...] If Giannis [Antetokounmpo] doesn't have a monster game and somebody else doesn't step up, Boston is just going to out talent them."

Yesterday, we reported that Pierce was sticking to his convictions that the Celtics would win in six games, although that feat is impossible now. If they want any chance at winning, they will have to push the series to seven games.
