Former NFL running back Darren McFadden was reportedly arrested early Monday morning and charged with driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest, according to a report by TMZ Sports.
The report states that the recently retired NFL star was asleep at the wheel of a 2019 GMC Yukon at a Whataburger drive-thru in the Dallas-Forth Worth area.
During the incident, cops say McFadden was resisting officers, and several sources revealed to TMZ that McFadden's driver's side and passenger windows were smashed during the ordeal.
He was taken to a nearby station where he was booked for DWI and resisting arrest before being released on bond a short time later.
McFadden, 31, retired from the NFL in November of 2017, following a three-year stint with the Dallas Cowboys. Prior to that, McFadden spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Oakland Raiders, who drafted him fourth overall out of Arkansas in the 2008 NFL Draft.
McFadden rushed for 1,089 yards and three touchdowns on a career-high 239 carries for Dallas back in 2015, but was relegated to the bench after the Cowboys drafted Ezekiel Elliott in 2016. He had his best NFL season in 2010 when he compiled a career-high 1,664 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns for the Raiders.
