Grover
Grover shows his true colors on a Sesame Street telecast.

All it takes is one whistleblower to fire off a chain reaction. Take this recent occurrence on Sesame Street as evidence. A parent of a child watching the nationally syndicated show thought she heard "Grover" issue the F-Bomb on a recent episode, and it didn't take long for her complaint to reach the Twitterverse. Her allegation is that Grover shouted, "Yes, yes, that's a f*cking excellent idea," and to be quite honest, it sure as hell sounds like Grover dropped the F-Bomb, when the running transcript actually calls for "Move the camera, yes, yes, that sounds like an excellent idea," as a deliverable.

Even though Sesame Street's showrunners have the incipient script to fall back on, once you program yourself in concert with the unintentional F-Bomb, it's hard to remove the constant F-loop from your headspace. Even if the F-Loop could be forcibly removed, it's much more fun to play cuss-word revisionist with all the characters from our childhood. If Grover were to become the degenerate version of himself, would he lose his Super Grover privileges in the process?

Is there anybody in the Sesame Street universe with a bad enough rap sheet to compete with Grover's list of transgression, except for maybe the Cookie Monster's history of theft, and Oscar's street-level curmudgeonry? Likely not: this might be Sesame Street's all-time low, and we're all the better for it, I'm afraid.
