Christmas has already passed but that didn't stop Boston Celtics star Kyrie Irving from getting into the spirit of giving on Thursday. Before the Celtics game against the Rockets in Houston, Irving was approached by a homeless man. Instead of ignoring him, Irving stopped to look into his bag and pulled out $240 in cash.
The entire exchange was caught on camera by a man named Thomas Moreno, who sent the footage to TMZ. It all happened while Irving was making his way to the team bus.
Possibly the highlight of the entire video is when Irving himself gives the homeless man the wad of cash. You can see the man lifting his arms in the air, jumping up and down excitedly. He then runs after Irving who makes his way to the Celtics team bus. After being moved away from the bus, the man comes to the crowd of people who were looking on and continues to jump for joy.
Despite the generous gift, karma didn't seem to be on Kyrie's side last night. The Rockets defeated the Celtics by a score of 127-113. Irving had 23 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists in the loss.
