The popular Atlanta venue, Opera Nightclub is in the news for all the wrong reasons after a woman was raped at the club and it was broadcasted on Facebook Live. According to The Heavy, the woman was drugged beforehand and the video appeared on her own Facebook page, spreading to Twitter and YouTube.
“Early Sunday morning, APD began receiving calls about a Facebook Live video that appears to show a woman being sexually assaulted in a local nightclub," the Atlanta Police Department told the publication. "Our Special Victims Unit has made contact with the victim, and an investigation into the matter has been opened. The investigation continues.”
Apparently, the video shows the woman smiling and dancing with the man, at first, before things went horribly wrong and he sexually assaulted her. Singer Bebe Rexha shared a tweet on the matter with a photo of the suspect, she wrote: "#JasmineEiland was drugged and raped while she was streaming on Facebook Live at a night club in Atlanta. She was crying and saying help me and NO repeatedly. Out of Respect I will not share the video. But here is a picture of the man that raped her. #JusticeForJasmine"
The victim has deleted all of her images off her Instagram and shared a message saying: "Please no calls/text I’m still gathering myself please.”
