Woodstock is viewed as one of the most legendary music festivals of all time. Sure, Coachella is lit but Woodstock was a complete experience. The festival took place in August 1969 and it's been the topic of so many conversations since then. Of course, people recall the psychedelic rock that came out of the concert and the insane things people lived out during their acid trips and we're now closing in on the 50th anniversary of all that.
This summer, the iconic festival will be turning fifty-years-old and there's no better way to celebrate than to bring it back to where it began. It all happened on a dairy farm outside of New York City and according to Billboard, Woodstock will return to the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in August.
Ticket prices and performers have not yet been announced for the upcoming festival but considering the magnitude of the anniversary, we're expecting the organizers to pull out all the stops. The concert will be set up by Live Nation and INVNT, who are promising performances from high-profile artists of today and the past.
The CEO of Bethel Woods issued the following statement: "Fifty years ago, people gathered peacefully on our site inspired to change the world through music. As the stewards of this historic site, we remain committed to preserving this rich history and spirit, and to educating and inspiring new generations to contribute positively to the world through music, culture, and community."
