Timbaland has been in his bag lately. If you were to take a brief tour through the legendary producer's IG page, you'd find no shortage of no bangers on deck. Clearly, Timbo is in the midst of a creative surge, one that will likely benefit collaborators like Teyana Taylor, Justin Timberlake, and Kanye West. Earlier this year, it was reported that Tim had touched down with Kanye for a few Yandhi sessions, joining Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, and Migos for the occasion. Now, with no concrete evidence pointing to a Yandhi release window, Timbo has taken to the Gram to preview a brief snippet of their work.
It's immensely difficult to discern given the length, but it sounds like Yeezy is taking to somewhat of a steady percussive rhythm, before what sounds like a major-chord organ kicks in. Regardless of Ye's standing in Kanye's discography, all signs appear to point to a big effort from the self-proclaimed "LeBron of rhyme." For once a delay bodes well, as it seems that Kanye felt compelled to put in that extra work, bringing in a few of the game's production legends for the assist.
Despite both men boasting decade-spanning careers, Timbo and Kanye haven't linked up that frequently. Tim did contribute "additional production" to a few Graduation singles, "Good Life" and "Stronger," though the most direct collaboration may very well be Jay-Z's Blueprint 2 cut "The Bounce." What do you think of this match-up?
