At the American Museum of Natural History's Hall of Ocean Life, Pharrell and Bionic Yarn joined forces with G-Star Raw. They are launching a new environmental project, Raw for the Oceans.
The goal of the project revolves around existing plastic polluting the oceans. Plastic is very harmful to the natural life within the ocean and the problem has been noted for some time now. However, their aim is to take the plastic from the oceans and turn it to something useful.
Yes, Pharrell and Bionic Yarn will have some help with several scientists and researchers at the helm. The plastic from the ocean will be used to create denim for a new line of denim sewn products, co-designed by Pharrell. Sure enough, the denim will be apart of the G-Star collections, which is where they come into play.
