Police are still investigating the violent attack against 19-year-old rapper YBN Almighty Jay, but new details regarding the robbery have emerged. TMZ reports that it was around midnight when a group of men jumped Jay in the lobby of a residential building in Manhattan. The rapper reportedly tried to run from the scene to safety, but he was dragged back inside where the assault continued.

Sources tell TMZ that not only were Jay's chains, money, and shoes taken, but the thieves stomped on him while he was on the ground and stabbed him several times. The large gash on his face was reportedly due to someone breaking a Hennessy bottle over his head and the lengthy wound on his face allegedly required 300 stitches.

Police say they arrived on the scene at approximately 12:30 a.m. after getting a call about the incident. They immediately saw Jay bleeding profusely from his face and the rapper was rushed to the hospital where he stayed for several days. According to TMZ, investigators claim that when they tried interviewing Jay to get his side of the story, he became uncooperative. They say that a group of witnesses who saw the fight go down declined to speak to police, as well.

One of the men allegedly responsible for Jay's attack, Zae Numbafive, looks as if he's showing off Jay's YBN Rap-A-Lot Records chain in his new music video. Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J. Prince made a public plea on Instagram to all the hip hop connections he knows, asking them to reach out to their New York City people to help track down Zae, and everyone responsible, for Jay's assault, "mob ties" style.
