There was much speculation over whether or not A$AP Mob co-founder A$AP Bari was going to go to jail over charges stemming from his November 2018 arrest, but TMZ reports that the entrepreneur scored a major triumph in court. The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of weed and under the agreement of his deal, he'll only have to pay a $4,000 fine. He will not have to serve any time in jail, nor will he have any probationary conditions.
In this case, Bari was originally charged with two felonies, possession of a controlled substance and intent to deliver. There were also five other misdemeanors including possession of drug paraphernalia. These charges weren't his only legal troubles in 2018. Earlier that year, a woman stepped forward and claimed that in 2017 Bari sexually assaulted after he came into her hotel room and attacked her. Following an investigation, Bari was ultimately cleared of all charges after the unnamed woman decided not to move forward in the case she made against the fashion designer.
TMZ later reported that Bari issued a lawsuit against his accuser, claiming she lied to make him pay up. Apparently, Jane Doe only claimed she was sexually assaulted after she got a lawyer. When police arrived at the hotel on the night of the incident they asked her if she was sexually assaulted and she said no.
However, in January of this year, Bari pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault in a London courtroom after a video surfaced of him walking into a hotel room and telling an unsuspected naked woman that because she had sex with his assistant, she had to perform oral sex on him. He avoided jail time but was ordered to pay a $5,000 fine, as well as an additional $3,150 to the woman.
