Forest Whitaker is heading into 2019 on a whole different note since he and his wife of 22 years are getting a divorce, The Blast reports. Forest reportedly filed the documents just today (December 27th). Keisha and Forest first met in 1994 having played each other's love interest in the film Blown Away.
They married two years later in 1996 in Montego Bay, Jamaica and share three children, Sonnet Noel Whitaker, True Whitaker, and Autumn Whitaker. The reason for the ending of their marriage is unknown at this time, but Forest did send out a positive reading tweet over the holidays.
"Christmas is a celebration of solidarity - a time of the year when we are reminded that the bonds our families, friends, fellow citizens and beyond are based on sharing and bringing joy. #MerryChirstmas to you all!"
Back in 2009 Forest talked about his parenting skills with Keisha explaining how he wasn't much of a "tough love" guy.
“[My kids] come to me when they’re trying to slip something by,” he said, describing Keisha as “much stronger” with their kids. “I have to always take a pause when they come and say, ‘Hey dad, is it okay if we do this?’” he explained. “So I just look at them like, ‘Have you talked to your mom about that?’ They know I’m the easy one.”
