Rich Homie Quan's concerts seem to be developing a pattern of violence, resulting in the death of attendees. In December, a man was fatally shot during a Rich Homie show in Ohio, although the rapper denied having any involvement with the shooting. Today, reports have surfaced on yet another shooting during a Rich Homie Quan concert, this time resulting in two deaths.
As reported by NOLA.com, two men died early this morning in the parking lot of the New Orleans concert hub Mardi Gras World, the venue where the Atlanta native was performing last night. Police say that the two shootings, which occurred an hour apart, were actually unrelated, and were not random. It's unclear if the shootings disrupted the show at all.
The first body was found at around 11:15 PM, while the second was found shortly after inside a silver car. One man was identified as Deron Hitchens, 25, while the other man's name has yet to be revealed, although we do know he was 28 years old. It appears both were attending the concert.
Officer Frank Robertson, a spokesman for NOPD, released a statement early Wednesday morning, saying, "This investigation is very preliminary and investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive." Apart from this shooting, there had been no other shootings on Fat Tuesday in N.O.
Police say the suspect had a "Rick Ross style beard and several gold teeth. He was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and colorful tennis shoe."
