Tampering has been a sore subject these last few weeks.

Issues such as tampering and trade demands have been brought up quite a bit over the last few weeks. This, of course, is in light of New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis letting everyone know that he wants out of the city, with the Los Angeles Lakers being his preferred destination. It created an interesting situation at the trade deadline, although no deal got done which ended up leading to the firing of GM Dell Demps. During a press conference at the All-Star Game, NBA commissioner Adam Silver was asked about the trade demands and what he thought of them.

"I would just say, blanketly, no, I don't like trade demands, and I wish they didn't come, and I wish all those matters were handled behind closed doors," Silver said. "In terms of trade demands, again, certainly, that's nothing new in this league, and I won't name names, but some of the greatest players in the history of this league have demanded trades at various points in their contract. Having said that, no one likes to see an instance where a player is demanding that he be traded when he still is in the middle of a contractual obligation to a team."

Davis' agent Rich Paul was fined $50,000 by the league for leaking his client's trade demands, which is something that Silver says he will continue to do in the future to discourage anymore public falling out parties.
