Rihanna may only be 25 years old, but she'll be the first artist honored for her career achievements at this year's American Music Awards. RiRi will receive the first ever AMA Icon award at the ceremony later this month.
According to producer Larry Klein, the singer will be given the prize for her "influential" and "innovative" career.
"The first-ever Icon Award was created to honor an artist whose body of work has made a profound influence over pop music on a global level," said Klein in a statement. "Rihanna’s iconic and innovative sound has enabled her to become one of the most influential and best-selling artists of all time."
The awards air November 24th on ABC. Tune in to see RiRi perform, as well as accept her prestigious award.
