Rap proved that it's the biggest genre in the world.

Hip-hop had an incredible year in 2018. So many great new artists made their way into the game while we also got some incredible albums and projects. Not only was the music great, but artists managed to captivate audiences around North America and ended up dominating the Billboard charts. According to Billboard, Drake, Travis Scott, and Lil Wayne had the most Billboard Hot 100 entries this year.

Based on the tweet above, it shows that 11 of the artists in the top 12 were all hip-hop acts. Of course, Drizzy led the way this year with a whopping 35 Billboard Hot 100 hits. Among those hits were "God's Plan" and "Nice For What." His stats got padded further when he released Scorpion which had multiple tracks hit the Billboard charts.

La Flame took the number two spot thanks to his latest body of work Astroworld and Lil Wayne's comeback album "The Carter V" allowed him to take the number three spot.

Newcomer Lil Baby even made the list, capturing 21 Hot 100 songs. Not bad considering he beat out rap heavyweights such as Meek Mill, Eminem, and Migos.
