It's almost annoying how talented Eminem is. Watching him effortlessly piece together rhymes is both awe-inspiring and frustrating to watch. "How?" is the question that millions ask themselves as they listen to Em bend words like twigs. There isn't a hip-hop heavyweight that would stand against Em in a battle, which is a testament to his skill.
Eminem touched down on Friday with a new freestyle video. Entitled "Kick Off," Em returns to his Slim Shady ways with bars about violence and mayhem. "The release of BODIED has me feeling nostalgic about battle rap so I headed down to my old stomping grounds," wrote Eminem on Twitter. The footage was shot at The Shelter at St. Andrew's in Detroit, and Em begins the video with a monologue about battle rap. In this era of sensitivity, Eminem pushes aside the facade of political correctness and reminds viewers that everything is fair play in battle rap.
"I play for keeps/ there's no escaping me/I have a bitch scared, and chained to me/and throw away the key/And she'll be so afraid to leave/ that even if she ends up breaking free, she'll just sit there," exclaims Em. His penchant for rapping about assault and battery receives a throwback Eminem response, with the rapper joking, " I'm just playing ladies, you know I love you."
