Kareem Hunt is banned from NFL activities pending the completion of an internal investigation.

As we reported, pro football player Kareem Hunt was caught on camera brutally beating a woman in the hallway of a hotel room. The victim later told police that Hunt lashed out violently as a result of her refusing to "hook up" with a member of the NFL player's entourage. Although no arrests were made when police arrived on the scene, the NFL has decided on active measures to penalize the star running back.

Effective immediately, Kareem Hunt will be placed on the NFL's exempt list, barring him from partaking with anything relating to league play, be it a scrimmage, a practice, a team event, and certainly no reps on the field. The "ban" also limits his ability to attend games, or interact with team officials, excluding private contact with friends he's made throughout his career.

After explaining the exclusionary clause, NFL officials made it clear they had their own investigation, regardless of whether the 19-year old woman or local law enforcement pursue the matter any further. Their press release stated, "The NFL's investigation, which began immediately following the incident in February, will include a review of the new information that was made public today.

Moments after the NFL said their piece, the Kansas City Chiefs made a pronounced statement of their own, effectively cutting ties with their star tailback. Their statement reads as follows: "Earlier this year, we were made aware of an incident involving running back Kareem Hunt. At that time, the National Football League and law enforcement initiated investigations into the issue. As part of our internal discussions with Kareem, several members of our management team spoke directly to him. Kareem was not truthful in those discussions. The video released today confirms that fact. We are releasing Kareem immediately."
