Wilson wants to get a deal done by April 15th.

Russell Wilson is one of the few quarterbacks in the NFL who has been able to take his team to multiple Super Bowls and even win one. With that in mind, it's no surprise that he's hoping that his next contract will be one of the biggest in the league as far as quarterbacks go. Wilson has one year left on his deal with the Seahawks and he's due for an extension. Last week, we reported that Wilson had given the Seahawks an April 15th deadline for a new deal to get done. However, according to some new information, it doesn't look like that deadline will be respected.

"While there has been communication between the two sides of late, the leak of the news of a deadline this week doesn't appear to have - as yet, anyway - resulted in any significant breakthroughs in negotiations," The Seattle Times explained.

The report also explains that the Seahawks have been aware of this deadline since January, although they don't seem to be in a rush to get anything done. Wilson might want upwards of $35 million a year which could be too rich for the Seahawks. If a deal doesn't get done, all signs point to Wilson being franchise tagged in 2020. The good news for the Seahawks is that Wilson reportedly won't hold out and no matter what, he'll be at training camp.

Stay tuned for updates on Wilson's contract situation as they become available.
